About Sharon Clifton

Sharon Clifton  Dip.TA Psych. MBACP. ITEC. EALF.

1DSC8007-X2I completed my four year training in Transactional Analysis at Wealden Institute in 2006. I have been practising for 15 years and at present I am the Psychotherapist at the Brighton Health and Wellbeing Centre in Brighton.

A new innovative integrated healthcare service within the NHS, I also work at The Tree of Life Centre in Hove. I have a keen interest in working with groups and individuals with trauma and PTSD.

As well as running a general practice that includes personal and couples counselling, I specialise in and have a passion for women’s issues such as pregnancy and birth, post natal depression, relationships and self empowerment. I am a Doula and was lucky enough to train with Michel Odent in 1999, who pioneered active birth for women. I am also a member of the Women Within Community.

I have a back ground in bodywork and have been a Usui Reiki Master for 20 years. I also ran my own Massage Company. My current work reflects my keen interest in the Mind, Body and Spirit connection.

In 2008 I trained in Permaculture and began to use the principles of sustainability reflected in nature in my practice. Walking with clients in nature means we can use the seasons and natural rhythms of the countryside as a deep reflecting of the self.

I also run a teenage clinic, specialising in offering tools for growth and development. Being a teenager can be a challenging time of self discovery and I am able to share tools and give strategies that can be taken into life to create a more sustainable way of being.

Finally I am a Equine Learning Facilitator. Working with horses allows us to become aware of ourselves and patterns that be holding us back from being fully in the Present and living life to our fullest potential.
